When I was a little girl I was obsessed with carrying a purse, moneyless but still stuffed full with goop and goodies that I could whip out at any given moment. Today my bag is literally the exact same way. I attempt not to make myself a human pack-horse, but by time I am ready to leave my flat I feel like I am inspector gadget. While the bottom of my bag is usually filled with scraps and coins, I have managed to create a list of my absolute needs; the can't leave the house withouts.
With fashion week less than a week away (I can not contain my excitement!) I thought it appropriate to write this post now. While I will do my best to only bring a small clutch to shows, here is what will be in my bag as I am running around throughout the week and what will keep me always ready when on the move.
It's only fair that I start with the actual bag that all this stuff is in. I bought this Cheap Monday tote specifically as bag for blogging; it fits a laptop, note pad, and just about everything else; it seriously is the Mary Poppins bag. Also it is sleek and black to go with absolutely everything.
The Make Up
While these products are not all I have on my face everyday they are my holy grails of beauty products.
1) Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme Mascara . I used to be a fluffy brush mascara girl until a friend of mine left this mascara at my house, which I stole and fell in love with. It is complete magic and creates the perfect long and lush lashes.
2) Soap and Glory "Sexy Mother Pucker, Pillow Plump, XXL". One of my biggest troubles with putting on makeup is that I have a tiny upper lip, and therefore lipstick always gets on my face. Thats when I turn to this plumping lip product. I use the clear gloss as a base coat before applying lipstick in order to give me the little extra boost I need.
3) Nars Lip Pencils. I have been a Nars makeup wearer since I received my first session with a Sephora make up artist. These pencils go on smooth and double as both a lip liner and a lipstick; no more messy edges. They're great to use on the go and come in a wide range of colours, with glossy or matte finishes. Dolce Vita is my go to everyday colour.
S'well Water bottle
Hydration is the key to happiness. I try to keep water on me at all times and this bottle helps me so much. It keeps your water cold all day and even keeps drinks hot for hours. Its also part of an amazing project that helps provide clean water around the world, isn't that swell.
My phone (clearly) with a great case
Though my phone is usually in my hand and not my bag, it is always on the go with me. I change my case a lot to give it a new look. Right now I am obsessed with the marble trend and have the black one. I also use my Lumee when I know I'll be snapping some pics.
Toy Shade Sunnies
London does seem to have a grey tinge to it, but the sun is starting to break through. I also believe that sun glasses on a busy day give you an extra spark of glamour, the "who is she? what is she wearing?" if you will. I love Toy Shades for their fun lenses and great shapes.
Candy or Snacks
Lets just be honest, I am always snacking. With Easter chocolates out, I am currently inhaling mini eggs.
Pen and A planner
My mother taught me to always have a pen in my purse, and I think I have finally learnt to. I also like to be a little old fashion and write down important dates in a planner instead of my phone, seems so much more official and organized. I'm always jotting down little notes to myself and forget me nots. Kate Spade kills it with cute little note books, you'll look stylish writing in.
Herman is my best friend and significant other, though some may call him a key chain. I love the fluffy little guy and he's big enough that I don't lose my keys with all the other stuff in my bag.
There you have it, if you ever see me out and about you'll now know exactly what I'm carrying around. Feel free to ask for a pen or candy any time.
