Where I've been blogging this month - stories from cafes in london

Other than the comfort of bed, I try to write and blog in cafes. I find that purposely leaving my flat in order to get work done, though this the most fun work I’ve ever done, makes me focused and timely. Plus, I’m more likely to stay on a word document when there are people around me, than if I was at home where I can easily stumble into finding and watching an entire season of Dave the Barbarian online (it is an amazing cartoon and I highly recommend it). I’ve also discovered that having an English “Tea Time” has quickly become my favorite part of the day. So every month I am going to try and find a new café in London to write from and share with you where that is.
Being new to London my first café pick was a place close to my flat called Le Pain Quotidien. If you live in London you’ve probably heard of this because it turns out it is a chain restaurant and café, but I had no clue! I thought I was lucky to have such a large unique place right at my door step but turns out you can find one in all areas. While this post has suddenly become a lot less hipster, I still feel the same way about the place, and maybe I just have its best location.
The café is large with private and communal tables on both floors. It is also has a full breakfast and light dinner menu of mainly organic meals. My experience in the café was coming after a long day at work and going into the back corner, which is cozy and quite at non-peek times, and ordering a green tea and a scone. The scone is simple but so fresh! I’m also the biggest fan of coffee places that take your order and bring the drinks to the table. With starting blogging I realized how much I appreciate not having to pack up my laptop in order to get another coffee.  My absolute recommendation though is that if you are really trying to get some work done is to sit on the second floor before 5pm. They close seating at five and ask for last call on orders if you’re staying, but they will not kick you off the floor. With this you have the charming atmosphere of the place but get to your work done almost privately, depending on if the other guest stay.

I will be returning there soon for its connivance and that I did not have one bad experience, and I have eaten a lot of scones this past month. If you have any suggestions where I should try this month comment or tweet me! (@real_walks)
